Day 4 – Something has to be done

If you did not read yet, here it is: why this trip !

From ”Stung Treng” to ”Rotanakiri” I  also try to get a smaller road but unfortunately this time I was not as like as yesterday as I and up in a close street in a rubber field

Here basically many field are own by, Vietnamese,  Chinese or rich Cambodian,  which took the land from the local people without compromise, with the consensus of a corrupted political class.

They cut all the trees to sell the wood.
Here in the photo above is an attempt to get a short cut, which failed as the forest was completely destroyed and all the trees was left in the middle.

Despite this butterfly here are not really scared.

Of course a bit of maintenance to the motorbike is always needed.  Here I stop to change the oil.

Well here it is the distressing scenarios I mention before. Km an km of forest are completed cuts and than burned to leave space to the rubber plantations

What I sow was quite sad but overall has been a great  day and I am now arrived in Ratanakiri looking forward to see tomorrow the Vulcan lake and the forest which is left in this corner of Cambodia.
